What is Simplicef?

Simplicef is a cephalosporin antibiotic used to treat skin infections (wounds and abscesses) caused by susceptible strains of bacteria. It is administered once a day and requires a prescription from your veterinarian. It is sold per tablet. Its long half-life allows for once-daily dosing, which may result in increased compliance and better clinical outcomes.

For:

Dogs

Benefits:

  • Effective in treating bacterial skin infections in dogs
  • Increased compliance and better clinical outcomes with simple once-a-day dosing
  • Can be given with or without food
  • Film-coated, odorless tablets for easy administration

Cautions:

Dogs with known hypersensitivity to penicillin or cephalosporins should not be given simplicef. Do not use in dogs with known allergy to penicillins or cephalosporins. The safety of cefpodoxime proxetil in dogs used for breeding, pregnant dogs, or lactating bitches has not been demonstrated.
