What is Posatex Otic Suspension?

Posatex Otic Suspension is an anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory and anti-fungal medication for dogs that treats otitis externa associated with susceptible strains of yeast and bacteria. Posatex Otic Suspension requires a prescription from your veterinarian.

How it works:

Posatex Otic Suspension contains anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory and anti-fungal properties, to treat inflammation in the ear canal (otitis externa) due to yeast and bacteria. Dogs with hanging/floppy ears tend to be more susceptible to otitis externa since there is a restricted amount of air-flow to the ear which creates a moist dark environment where bacteria and yeast thrive. Posatex Otic Suspension works by combining a broad spectrum antibiotic called Orbifloxacin, a potent anti-inflammatory agent called Mometasone Furoate Monohydrate and Novel triazole, a antifungal new to animal health.

Cautions:

Tell your veterinarian if your pet has ever had an allergic reaction to this medication or any of the individual ingredients or quinolones. Tell your veterinarian if your pet is pregnant or lactating. Not for use in humans. Keep out of reach in children. Do not administer orally. Discontinue use if hearing loss is observed. Avoid using any other medications in your pet's ear unless instructed to by your veterinarian. Do not use in dogs with perforated ear drums. Do not use this product beyond the recommended dose of 7 days.
